Read The Uprising Blog.

Some people think that church is a building you go to get closer to God. They think that when they are there, they are on the front lines of what God is doing, joining arm in arm with Jesus, their new bff, as they battle demons, devils, evil cats, vampires (go team Jacob), Bieber feverites, and such. I'm finding that church (the place) is more like a huddle and outside those four walls is where the action actually is (where we get to BE the church). Imagine if football were like church. We watch in amazement and anticipation as our favorite celebrity football players gather around the quarterback to receive the next play. They yell, "break," rush to the sidelines to get some gatorade and rest for forty seconds, then come back to the huddle again, and repeat the entire process over and over! This is what we seem to do in church, isn't it? We gather together (a huddle) and then run straight to the sidelines for rest and drink and eat and play, and then we come back into those four walls to huddle up again, repeating the same process every single week. And throughout all of this time, we don't even realize that the game is waiting to be played. Jesus said it this way: "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Luke 10:2a). The harvest isn't the church (place) gathering endlessly until middle school youth group becomes the middle-aged youth group; the harvest is the church (people) going out into their schools and continuing the mission of Christ.

So, we introduce the Uprising Blog to you. Here you can be equipped and encouraged with TRUTH about who God is from stuff that didn't make it into the Wednesday Night message, TRUTH about God from random thoughts from your leaders and TRUTH coming from upcoming songs and events all week long. May this serve as a reminder to BE THE CHURCH in between huddles.

We hope and pray that you will find this helpful as we are all growing together in the mission and purpose of God, to make Christ known to all nations.

Love you guys,
Tyson
